This is an incredible original pencil concept from The Black Cauldron (1985) by artist Mike Ploog. Known more as a comic book arist and designer for live-action movies, Ploog's designs for The Black Cauldron were extremely detailed and so popular among the employees that a book of his designs was published and distributed among the artists. Accomplished in graphite on animation paper, the piece measures 19.5" x 23.5" framed, and the mat opening measures 9" x 13".
